Bernez Tangi was born in 1949 in Carantec (Brittany).
After his studies, he decided to travel the world (Europe,
America, Asia and Africa).
Painter, singer and poet, he founded Storlok with Denez Abernot, a group witch performed with eight
other musicians. This was Brittany's first Breton rock group
which played from 1976 to 1980.
A writer in the Breton language, his two collections
of poetry were published by Mouladurioù hor Yezh-Skrid :
Fulennoù an tantad in 1987, for which he received
the Imram prize, and Rod an avelioù in 2001.
In 1988, he produced a short film for television :
"An heliko a ya kuit da beder eur" ("The helicopter leaves
at 4 am).
In 1900, he self-produced a recording on tape
Kest al lec’h (In search of the place) and in 2001
recorded a CD Eured an diaoul (The Devil'sWedding)
produced by An Naer.
An exhibition of his paintings took place in 1999,
near Carhaix (Finistere, Brittany), and a new exhibition
was organised in April 2009 by the Ti ar Vro in Quimper, Brittany.
His written texts appear regularly in foreign publications
dedicated to poetry or literature.
In addition, selected poems have been translated into
a dozen languages (English, Lithuanian, Polish, Chuvash,
Italian, German, Dutch and Serbo-Croat).
He has been invited several times to read his poems and
to present his work (Poland, 2008 ; Iceland, 2007 ; Berlin 2005 ;
Lithuania, 2004, Austria…)
En 2003, his poems were staged, in the company of guitarist
Soïg Sibéril actress-singer Nolwenn Korbell.
At the end of 2005,a collection of his poems Chien de Feu
(Fire Dog), was published for the first time in French by Tarv Ruz, accompanied with a CD of its texts spoken
by him in Breton.
In April 2009, he recorded a new CD Lapous an tan,
produced by Tarv Ruz.
